John Baymore first began woodfiring in 1969 as a college ceramics student when he
built his first wood kiln at his parent’s home in rural northern New Jersey. From
that moment on, John has been immersed in both the physical process as well as the
aesthetic qualities that only the woodfiring of ceramic work produces.
John currently fires his work in a 30+ year old, five chamber noborigama kiln which
he designed and built.
